Your first Reformer Pilates class

What to expect when you come in for the first time?

Your first time on the Reformer can feel a little daunting. It does not have to be: everyone starts with a personal introductory class with me, and you do not need to be fit to begin. I will walk you through your first class step by step, so you know exactly what to expect.

THE PREPARATION

How your first class starts

We start with an intake. I ask about your goals, any complaints, and what kind of exercise you are used to. Then I look at your posture and how you move, so I can set up the Reformer properly for your body.

What to wear? Comfortable sportswear you can move freely in. Grip socks are required in the studio; if you do not have them yet, you can buy a pair from me.

ON THE REFORMER

Getting to know the Reformer

The first exercises are done lying down, where your back is well supported. You immediately feel how the springs provide resistance and how you use that resistance to move in a controlled way. I demonstrate every exercise, and we do everything at your own pace.

What surprises most people: you instantly feel which muscles are working, including muscles you did not know you had. That is exactly the power of the Reformer.

Afterwards

At the end of the class you will know whether Reformer Pilates is right for you, and we discuss which class type suits you best afterwards: group, duo or private. There is no obligation whatsoever.
